Mrs. Betty Ford 1918 - 2011 The Board of Directors of The Old Guard Monument Foundation tenders its sincere condolences to the family and friends of former First Lady Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Ford, a member of our Advisory Council, who died on Friday July 8, 2011. We have been honored by Mrs. Ford’s recognition of our efforts to place a monument to the 3rd U.S. Army Infantry Regiment, (The Old Guard) on the grounds of its headquarters at Fort Myer Virginia. At this sad time, we express our deep appreciation to the late President Gerald R. Ford and Mrs. Betty Ford for their long and distinguished service to our nation.
