 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Unit Patch Veterans and friends of the Old Guard resolved to recognize this prestigious and historic unit’s 225 years of distinguished service to the nation by the erection of a monument honoring its members, past, present and future. |
The dream began as soldiers of the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) worked to recover the dead and injured from the smoldering ruins of the Pentagon’s south wing after the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. The Old Guard "To Honor Our Own"   |
